All signs point to FC Bayern extending Harry Kane’s contract. The English striker is expected to extend his contract, which runs through 2027, beyond its original term. However, some details still need to be worked out.
It has been almost exactly three years since Harry Kane joined FC Bayern Munich. Since his transfer, Kane has impressively lived up to expectations in Munich. The Englishman joined the record champions from Tottenham Hotspur for a transfer fee of up to 120 million euros, making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
He has since appeared in 147 competitive matches and scored 146 goals for FC Bayern. In addition, Kane has won two league titles and, most recently, the DFB-Pokal with the Munich club. His contract extension is therefore considered one of the most important personnel issues at Säbener Straße.
According to information from SPORT1, Bayern officials are confident that the partnership will continue. Kane himself is also said to have turned down offers from other clubs so far.
However, one crucial point has not yet been finalized: the duration of the new contract.
Currently, much points to an extension through 2029. Kane’s camp, however, is said to favor a contract through 2030. That would mean the forward would be 36 years old when the contract expires.
On the Bayern side, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen is leading the negotiations. He recently indicated that both sides are, in principle, pursuing the same goal.
“There is a strong desire on both sides. Now we have to make sure that those desires align,” Dreesen explained.
The Bayern boss had already announced at the championship celebration in May that he wanted to resolve the personnel issue before the start of the new season, if possible.

The fact that Bayern has a good chance of reaching an agreement is also due to Kane’s own attitude. According to his own statements, the Englishman feels extremely at home in Munich.
“Everyone knows how much I enjoy it here,” the forward said after winning the DFB Cup.
In addition to the ongoing contract talks, Harry Kane has some important events coming up in the next few weeks. On August 19, the Bayern striker will be awarded the Golden Shoe at the club museum. With 36 Bundesliga goals, he edged out competitors including Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé.
Kane can also hope for another individual award on the international stage. Following his strong season, the Englishman is among the top favorites for the Ballon d’Or ceremony on October 26 in London.
