A laboured 1-1 draw in Poland left the Netherlands virtually assured of a spot at next summer’s World Cup. Here are the Oranje player ratings.

According to Football Oranje, Bart Verbruggen’s saves, including one from Lewandowski, secured the point, six point five out of 10. Lutsharel Geertruida did not take his chance with Dumfries out, five out of 10.

Micky van de Ven surged superbly before the break and was tidy, six out of 10. Jurrien Timber impressed and did well at right back in the second half, six point five out of 10.

Virgil van Dijk was caught out for the goal and looked shaky, five point five out of 10. He coped better with Lewandowski but put passes out of play. Frenkie de Jong kept things moving but created too little, six out of 10.

Ryan Gravenberch was largely anonymous, five point five out of 10. Justin Kluivert created little and lost the ball, five out of 10. Donyell Malen saw plenty of the ball but missed a point blank header in the build-up to the goal, five out of 10.

Cody Gakpo tried to make things happen but little stuck, his starting place is secure, five out of 10. Memphis Depay delivered an important goal and remains a box threat, six out of 10, but running at defenders now brings turnovers and proved costly for the goal. Subs: Tijjani Reijnders, Jan Paul van Hecke, Emanuel Emegha and Jerdy Schouten were not on enough to rate.
