Neto backs Juventus to reach the highest level as in the past | OneFootball

Neto is back at Juventus after spending two seasons at the club between 2015 and 2017. The Old Lady has brought him back as it looks to add more cover in goal.

The goalkeeper was a free agent, but Juventus turned to him after an emergency developed in that area. The Bianconeri believe his previous experience with the club could make him a useful option during a difficult period.

So far, Neto has been focused on training as he works to regain a competitive level of fitness. He still has considerable preparation to complete before he is ready to step in and play for the team.

Neto preparing for his return

Juventus is aware of Neto’s current condition and is taking its time before deciding when he should make his debut. The club does not want to rush him before he is fully prepared to compete.

His return has also raised questions about whether Juventus can reach the level it achieved between 2015 and 2017. During that period, the club reached the Champions League final twice and won Serie A in both seasons.

That remains the standard Juventus supporters want to see again. The club’s current group will therefore be under pressure to match the achievements of that successful period, although Neto believes the squad has the quality required to do so.

Neto confident in Juventus

Neto believes the current team can achieve important results if it focuses on its present circumstances. Speaking via Calciomercato, he said:

“Ultimately, it’s the dynamics, the dynamics of football, the contexts, and ultimately you have to work with the current situation. The teams and the players are truly strong, with truly remarkable ability and quality. From my point of view, we can achieve the results Juve is accustomed to. The contexts we’ve been through during these times are things that happen. Ultimately, everyone wants to win, not just Juve, but I think we can achieve truly important things.”

The goalkeeper’s confidence will encourage supporters as he continues preparing for his return. Juventus will decide when he is ready to play, but the club will hope he can provide valuable cover once he reaches the required fitness level.
