Grêmio have unveiled their 2026 third shirt, predominantly blue, the latest New Balance design after the company took over as kit supplier. The five-year deal signed in June 2025 under president Alberto Guerra is worth R$ 18-20 million per season, Globo Esporte reports. The offer ended a partnership of more than a decade with Umbro.
New Balance ended its exclusive arrangement with São Paulo in December 2025. Umbro, Nike and Mizuno also submitted proposals to supply Grêmio’s kits.
The choice was driven by the financial package and an exclusive launch model. Unlike Nike’s global template, New Balance grants Grêmio greater autonomy over design.
The transition was eased by both brands being managed in Brazil by Grupo Dass. Founded in 1979 and based in Ivoti, Rio Grande do Sul, the company is regarded as one of Latin America’s largest integrated sports brand operators.
The agreement also guarantees royalties even if sales disappoint, with a minimum of R$ 6 million, Correio do Povo reports. With New Balance shirts costing about 30% more, the club projects higher returns from merchandise than under the previous deal.
