In a recent report, TNT Sports journalist Nicolas Latini claimed that Newcastle United are set to make a move for Estudiantes wide player Benjamin Rollheiser. It has been stated that the Magpies are preparing to launch a €10m offer for the Argentine winger this summer.

Rollheiser’s Impressive Numbers In Argentine Football

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a great campaign at the Argentine club as he has put in a string of productive performances in the final third. Rollheiser has made 38 appearances for Estudiantes this season, finding the back of the net on 12 occasions and earning five assists in various competitions.

The Argentine sensation caught the eye with his performances in the opponent’s half based on his average of 2.7 shots, 1.4 key passes and 2.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in Liga Profesional. He even distributed the ball relatively well after making 78.1% of his attempted passes in the Argentine first division (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Argentine club will run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, it won’t be easy for Newcastle to snap him up on the cheap this summer.

Should Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe Bring Rollheiser In This Summer?

Rollheiser is a decent dribbler with the ball and has got the eye to cut open the opponent’s defence with a killer pass in the final third.

The Argentine sensation is a technically gifted footballer who can shoot the ball with power and precision from long range. He is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also function as a left-winger or as an attacking midfielder if asked to do so.

At 23, Rollheiser has got his best years in front of him which makes him an ideal target for Newcastle boss Eddie Howe to consider this month.

Rollheiser has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting place at St. James’ Park this season. He might even help the Tyneside club compete across all fronts in the future. Thus, Howe should focus on going all out to bring Rollheiser in before the end of this transfer window. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football.
