Newcastle United complete signing of Aladji Bamba | OneFootball

Newcastle have completed the signing of highly rated midfielder Aladji Bamba from Monaco, with the deal reportedly worth up to £34 million including add-ons.

The 20-year-old has signed a five-year contract at St James' Park after successfully completing his medical on Tyneside. He becomes the Magpies' fourth arrival of the summer, following the additions of Ewen Jaouen, Bazoumana Touré and Sean Steur, and will wear the club's number eight shirt.

Bamba only made his senior debut for Monaco last season but quickly established himself as one of the brightest young midfielders in French football.

His impressive displays in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League attracted interest from several clubs, with Newcastle winning the race for his signature.

A France Under-20 international and a current Golden Boy nominee, Bamba arrives with a growing reputation and is expected to strengthen Eddie Howe's midfield options. His signing comes after Sandro Tonali's move to Tottenham and amid continued speculation surrounding the future of Bruno Guimarães, giving Newcastle an exciting long-term option in the centre of the park.
