N’Golo Kanté’s (34) move to Turkish club Fenerbahçe has fallen through at the final hour. RMC Sport understands that the necessary documents were sent too late by his current club, Al-Ittihad.

The France international had been expected to join Fenerbahçe. He had been linked with a move to the Turkish club for much of the window, and even when the window closed, it is a move that was expected to be officialised.

However, in a press release on Tuesday, Fenerbahçe put out a press release, stating that the deal had fallen through and pointing the finger squarely at Al-Ittihad, who they blame for failing to send the necessary documents in time.

Kanté, therefore, will remain at Al-Ittihad until the end of the season, at which point the former Chelsea and Leicester City midfielder’s contract expires. As a result of the aborted deal, Youssef En-Nesyri will not make the opposite move, as was expected.
