Nice have accepted an offer from Hamburg for Nigerian forward Terem Moffi, as first reported by Nice-Matin. He must now reach an agreement with the Bundesliga club.

The fee was not disclosed. Nice hoped to shed the striker’s sizeable wages, he is under contract until 2027, which could help them make an extra effort to recruit Elye Wahi. There has been no significant progress with Frankfurt despite discussions over a paid loan.

Hamburg have been pursuing the deal for weeks. Ineos had wanted a high fee, close to the eight million euros option discussed with FC Porto during his six-month loan last winter, but have given the green light at a lower price.

Since his return from loan, Moffi has trained diligently through the summer, which pleased new coach Olivier Pantaloni and his staff. He did not feature in any pre-season matches, although it was considered.

Signed during a period of heavy Ineos investment, Moffi has been at Nice since 2023. He should soon depart after scoring 24 goals in 72 official appearances.
