Leeds United are moving towards a deal for Nico Elvedi as Sebastiaan Bornauw’s departure nears, with potential movement on Joel Piroe and Lucas Perri before the Premier League opener at Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Bornauw is on course to join Hamburg on loan with an option to buy, a switch that would clear the way for Elvedi, while West Ham have enquired about Piroe and are open to a deal that could start as a loan with an obligation to buy should they be promoted.

Leeds ended pre-season brightly, beating FC Augsburg 4-0 thanks to goals from Anton Stach, Tarik Muharemovic, James Justin and Lukas Nmecha. Farke’s side won four of six friendlies ahead of their trip to Nottingham Forest.
