Nice to beat Celtic to sign Eintracht Frankfurt full-back Niels Nkounkou | OneFootball

OGC Nice are reportedly on the verge of securing the services of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Niels Nkounkou (25), according to information from L’Équipe.

Also courted by Scottish club Celtic, the French full-back is said to have ultimately opted for the Aiglons, whom he is close to joining on a loan deal with an option to buy. Melvin Bard (25), meanwhile, who is reportedly being targeted by several Premier League clubs, could leave the Côte d’Azur in the coming hours.

Three years after leaving AS Saint-Étienne, Nkounkou is therefore set to return to France soon and make his Ligue 1 debut, having made 21 appearances (six goals, eight assists) in Ligue 2.

On loan at Torino in a bid to regain regular playing time during the 2025-26 season, the Pontoise-born player has had a difficult campaign, having made just 13 appearances in all competitions (one assist) for the Turin-based club.
