According to Voetbal International, Nick Olij will be the new goalkeeper at PSV. His entourage confirmed the information to VI. The Dutch national team’s third goalkeeper will sign a multi-year contract with the national champions.
VI already reported the transfer of Olij to PSV a few weeks ago. However, that transfer has now been given the green light. The goalkeeper who has been under contract with Sparta Rotterdam for the past few years will sign a four-year contract at the Philips Stadium.
In order to buy out Olij’s current contract – which was fixed at Het Kasteel until the summer of 2028 – PSV will pay approximately three million euros for the 29-year-old goalie.
PSV are also still in talks with Daniel Peretz. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper will have to compete with Olij in Eindhoven. Joël Drommel will most likely no longer compete, as he looks for a new club.
With Olij, PSV has at least found a successor to Walter Benítez. The Argentinian left the club last week at the end of his contract. Olij will be the first summer signing of technical director Earnest Stewart.
