Nidal Celik has been ruled out of the 2026 World Cup after suffering a meniscus injury in training. The 19-year-old Lens centre-back will miss the tournament for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
L'Équipe reports that he was injured on Thursday, on the eve of his country’s opener against Canada on Friday at 21:00.

Celik had earned his first senior cap for Bosnia and Herzegovina on 29 May and had been called up for the tournament.
He joined Lens in February 2025 and broke through this season, making nine appearances.
He has left Bosnia and Herzegovina’s base camp, with head coach Sergej Barbarez calling up Arjan Malic to replace him.
