Niels Nkounkou joins Nice on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt

Nice have signed left-back Niels Nkounkou on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, the club said on Tuesday.

The move adds late-window depth for the Ligue 1 side, following the arrival of Mohammed Amoura.

Celtic had looked to finalise a loan in recent hours, but the Frenchman has headed for the Côte d'Azur.

The agreement includes an option to buy. Nkounkou remains under contract with Frankfurt until June 2028.

The 25-year-old from Pontoise will be reunited at Nice with close friend Elye Wahi, who was also allowed to leave Eintracht this summer.
