Nigel Clough has added former Nottingham Forest striker David McGoldrick to Mansfield Town's attack.
According to Nottingham Post, McGoldrick has signed a one-year deal with the Stags.
Clough said he was thrilled to recruit a forward with an impeccable record at this level and above.
He explained that McGoldrick's quality in the final third drove the move, and the end-of-season review showed they needed something different.
With the permanent signing of Tyler Roberts, and McGoldrick joining Rhys Oates and Will Evans, he said Mansfield now have good options in attack.
Clough thanked owners Mr and Mrs Radford for backing the deal, and credited staff member Stephen Quinn, who played with McGoldrick for the Republic of Ireland, for helping secure the move.
McGoldrick also featured for Notts County, and he twice lost in the Championship play-offs with Forest in 2010 and 2011.
