Nigel Lonwijk leaves Wolves for permanent move to Maccabi Haifa

Nigel Lonwijk has left Wolves to join Maccabi Haifa on a permanent deal in the Israeli Premier League.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 23-year-old ends a six-and-a-half-year association with Wolves, having arrived from PSV Eindhoven in January 2020 and starting with the under-18s before stepping up through the academy.

He did not make a senior appearance for the club, instead taking in six loan spells, and was involved in several pre-season camps, including the trip to Portugal this summer.

He was not in the squad for the mid-week friendly win over Maidenhead.

Maccabi Haifa have paid a fee of £500,000, with Wolves retaining a 25 per cent sell-on clause.
