The 17-year-old defender, who currently plays for the Under-19s, has committed his future to the Eagles.

Niklas Scheller started out in Eintracht Frankfurt’s youth training programme while still a player for hometown club SC Dortelweil, who are based in the Hesse district of Bad Vilbel. He joined the Eagles permanently as a ten-year-old in 2018 and has been with the club ever since, making over 100 competitive appearances at youth level. Now 17, the defender is a key member of the Eagles’ Under-19 side.

After making his international debut at Under-17 level in September 2025, Scheller was named in Germany’s squad for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar late last year. He was the side’s best provider in the group stage, only for his tournament to be cut short by a hip injury. As the teenager continues to work his way back to fitness, Eintracht have opted to tie him down on a long-term deal.

Sporting director Timmo Hardung: “Niklas Scheller’s new contract underlines the path we want to take with our talented youngsters. Niklas has continually developed over the past few years and we’re very pleased to be continuing that development together, with a view to bringing him closer to first-team contention.”Alexander Richter, head of Eintracht’s youth academy: “Niklas Scheller is from the Frankfurt region and therefore a prime example of the path we’re taking with our local youngsters. He has developed into an outstanding player with us, and we as a club see a clear future for him here. We’re therefore delighted that we can continue to help him reach his full potential in the coming years.”
