No matter how, the main thing is gone! Bayern want to get rid of Nübel at all costs

With the contract extensions of Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich, FC Bayern has sent a clear message – and finally closed the door on Alexander Nübel

What had already been hinted at in recent months has now been officially confirmed: the 29-year-old no longer plays a role in the record champions‘ sporting plans

This became particularly clear in the statements made by those responsible at Bayern when the new contracts of Neuer and Ulreich were announced

Sporting director Max Eberl made the hierarchy in goal unmistakably clear: „Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich and Jonas Urbig form a goalkeeping team in which everyone has their role and which develops together.“ A sentence that was particularly noticeable because one name was completely missing: Alexander Nübel

Sporting director Christoph Freund also confirmed that Nübel will not be part of the Bayern squad in the coming season: „We had an exchange with his management and Alex also knows what our plans are.“

At the latest, this makes it clear that Munich have long since made up their minds internally

Strong season in Stuttgart not enough for Bayern

Particularly bitter from the keeper’s point of view: Nübel would have made a good case in sporting terms recently. The international goalkeeper played a strong season at VfB Stuttgart and played a big part in the club qualifying for the Champions League once again. Nevertheless, Bayern apparently no longer see a future with him

The main reason for this lies in the club’s new goalkeeping strategy. In Jonas Urbig, Munich already have the designated successor to Neuer. At the same time, Ulreich continues to enjoy an enormously high status internally as a reliable backup and leading player

According to Sky, Bayern want to sell Nübel permanently in the summer if possible. Alternatively, a loan with a subsequent obligation to buy would also be conceivable

However, a transfer is unlikely to be easy. Nübel still has a contract in Munich until 2030 and is expected to earn up to €11-12 million gross per year – a salary that few interested parties can easily afford

Particularly explosive: As reported by the portal Fussballdaten, FCB are also said to be considering an early termination of his contract. In view of the reported salary, these thoughts are not surprising. However, one thing is clear: This scenario would cost Bayern too much money, as they would not receive a transfer fee. Nübel’s current market value is estimated at 12 million euros.
