FLW's Huddersfield fan pundit believes the Terriers should continue their pursuit of Murray Wallace

Huddersfield Town are in the race to secure Millwall defender Murray Wallace’s services this summer.
Alan Nixon stated via his Patreon page that the Terriers and fellow League One outfit Blackpool are the two sides battling it out for the 32-year-old’s signature.
The versatile Scottish defender has been at Millwall for eight seasons and made over 200 appearances for the Lions.
However, a lack of playing time last term has led to Wallace’s contract not being renewed, which has brought forward the attention of the aforementioned suitors.
Football League World’s Huddersfield Town fan pundit, Graeme Rayner, believes Wallace could be a valuable addition for the Terriers.
“We've been linked with a couple of experienced pros at centre-half,” said Graeme. “Liam Cooper and Murray Wallace have both spent time at Huddersfield before.
“Neither of them are exciting options, but they are both players that would have experience and a bit of guile or nous in that position that we lose when Tom Lees and Matty Pearson leave the club.
“So, I think with some of the less experienced players in that area of the pitch that we've signed, it's really useful to be linked with some people who are natural leaders, a bit more physical, a bit more wily, who understand the requirements of the English game and can both do a job in League One.
“The only issue is Murray Wallace last season barely played half the games. So, is he capable of Saturday, Tuesday football every week? We'll see. But, I think they're pragmatic options, so no objections.”
The Terriers have been active in the early stages of the 2025 summer transfer window, recruiting Ryan Ledson, Marcus Harness, Sean Roughan and Joe Low at this moment in time.
Adding Wallace to the mix on a free would be a sharp piece of business, injecting quality and experience into Lee Grant’s defence.
Although the defender may not be the most exciting signing, his large quantity of playing time in the Championship can only be a good thing for Huddersfield, even if his influence on the Millwall side diminished last term.
Murray has already spent four years at the John Smith's Stadium, which means that he would be heading back to familiar territory.
As Grant continues to compile a squad fit to challenge for promotion from League One, acquiring the Scottish defender this summer could prove to be a wise move.
