Niclas Fullkrugs injury setback will come as no surprise to anyone at West Ham, particularly the fan base.
When it became evident in the closing days of the summer transfer window that the club would be happy to stick with Fullkrug, Calum Wilson and Calum Marshall as the clubs strikers this season, then many knew it was a risk only West Ham would take.
Fullkrug, despite showing signs of being a huge asset to the club when fit, has already proven to be a huge risk on the injury front, with the most of his time so far in east London spend on the treatment table.
Then following the arrival of Wilson, a player who has himself suffered with multiple injury issues in recent season, everyone knew how the script would play out.
We are a mere 3 games into the Premier League season and already an injury has occurred, with Fullkrug set to miss the Spurs game this weekend with a ‘minor strain’.
In the world of West Ham that could mean a week or a year out. Time will tell. But once again, a risj has been taken by the club, which underlines the lack of foresight and ambition that the fans find so frustrating.
