Norwich City are hoping to confirm the appointment of former Rangers manager Philippe Clement as their new head coach today, according to the Daily Telegraph journalist John Percy.

Clement left Rangers in February and has been out of work since leaving the Ibrox club, but he is set to get back in the dugout this weekend.

The former Light Blues boss is expected to oversee the Norwich first-team in training today.

Clement succeeded Michael Beale as Rangers boss in October 2023 and was sacked earlier this year after a poor run.

The Belgian helped the Bears win the Scottish League Cup in 2023-24, but it was not enough in the end as everything went south the following season.

Barry Ferguson took over as Rangers manager on an interim basis and was replaced by Russell Martin in the summer.

Martin lasted just 17 games in charge and has since been succeeded by Danny Rohl.

The German is now looking to turn things around at the Ibrox club after the damage done by Clement and Martin.

Rangers are at the bottom of the Europa League table following four defeats in their opening four games of the league phase.

They are fourth in the Scottish Premiership after 11 games, with 12 points between them and surprise league leaders Heart of Midlothian.

Rohl has a big job on his hands and will look to add a couple of top players to his squad during the January transfer window.

Rangers have the Scottish Cup to play for this term after elimination from the Scottish League Cup and woeful starts to the Scottish Premiership and Europa League campaigns.

They were dumped out of the Scottish Cup in the fifth round in February by Championship club Queen’s Park and will be desperate to avoid a repeat in the coming weeks.
