Norwich City host Coventry City in the Championship at Carrow Road on Monday, 26 January, with the leaders pushing to strengthen their promotion bid and the home side seeking breathing space from the lower reaches.
Norwich City are unbeaten in the last 10 meetings with Coventry City, winning seven and drawing three. That record offers a useful backdrop as the leaders visit Norfolk.
Recent momentum favours the Canaries too: four wins in five across league and cup, including a 5-0 win at West Brom and a 5-1 against Walsall. Coventry City responded to a three-game league wobble with back-to-back home wins over Leicester City and Millwall.
Injuries shape selection for the hosts, with Shane Duffy, Jeffrey Schlupp, Mirko Topić, Amankwah Forson, Ante Crnac, Gabriel Forsyth and Lucien Mahovo all listed as out. Coventry City report goalkeeper Oliver Dovin is sidelined.
Coventry City have scored 61 league goals at 2.2 per game and could test a defence that has kept just three clean sheets. Ellis Reco Simms, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Haji Wright each have 10 league goals, while Milan Van Ewijk has six assists. Their 444 open-play crosses plus 12 headed goals point to a strong aerial route. The Canaries carry threat of their own through Jovon Makama's 10 and Josh Sargent's seven.
Top of the table on 58 points, Coventry City could tighten their grip on first place with a win. The Canaries, 20th on 30 points, would move further from the relegation places if they take three points.
