Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr is not close to a move to Galatasaray despite the Turkish giants’ interest in taking him to Istanbul.
It has been suggested that Spurs would not stand in the way of a move for the Senegalese if the right proposal were to arrive, given they have already reinforced their engine room with the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
Galatasaray are long-time suitors of Sarr and have spied an opportunity to potentially bring their chase to a successful conclusion.

There have been claims that the Cimbom had moved a step closer by making an offer to the Lilywhites, although that was later revealed not to have happened.
Nonetheless, Sarr has successfully agreed personal terms over a move to Istanbul this summer, while there have also been indications that a deal between the clubs could be in line.

However, according to Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, ‘nothing very concrete’ has happened as Galatasaray’s pursuit of Sarr has yet to advance.
Given the Senegalese is receptive to the prospect of a switch, however, the situation could take another turn in the coming days.
What Tottenham would demand as their valuation for Sarr remains to be established, while whether the Cimbom would be prepared to meet it is another question still awaiting an answer.
Even if everything is sorted between the clubs, Galatasaray are believed to first need to offload Mario Lemina from Istanbul before they can welcome Sarr.

Should the midfielder remain in north London beyond this summer, he could find his opportunities restricted under Roberto De Zerbi, with Spurs’ midfield already heavily stocked and no European football to offer additional minutes.
Spurs are currently putting their attention towards attacking reinforcements, closing in on Manchester City star Savinho, while another attacker from the Etihad could follow in Omar Marmoush.
The Lilywhites are also preparing a fresh offer for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo as they continue to pursue another attacking addition for N17.
