Norwich City were among the clubs interested in the Ntege twins, but have lost out to Nottingham Forest

Norwich City are set to miss out on the signing of Joseph Ntege and Jubilee Ntege to Nottingham Forest.

According to the Daily Mail, the two former Reading twins are set for a move to the Premier League side despite interest from the Canaries.

The brothers grew up in Sweden, but made the move to England where they eventually became a part of the Royals’ academy system.

The League One side fended off interest from a number of clubs to bring them into their youth teams, but were unable to hold onto them going into the summer.

The pair of youngsters have yet to make a first team appearance at this stage of their career, but will be hoping to earn a pathway to senior football soon.

The two 16-year-olds have both been receiving attention for their goal scoring efforts at underage level, which led to them making it to U18s last season.

Joseph registered a total of 35 goals and assists, including 12 for the U18s, while Jubilee reached 33 goals involvements, including 10 at U18 level.

It’s believed that Nottingham Forest have won the race to the signatures of the two Ntege brothers.

Norwich were among the clubs seeking a deal to sign the two youngsters following their exits from Reading earlier this summer.

Joseph also had attention from the likes of Newcastle United and Manchester United due to his performances on the left-wing.

Meanwhile, Jubilee was wanted by Augsburg and Genk, as well as the Canaries, but they will both be moving to the City Ground.

This comes as a blow to the Norfolk outfit, who are looking to bolster their academy squads as part of their long-term strategy to improve the first team.

While neither player likely would’ve made an impact for Philippe Clement’s side this season, they both could have broken into his first team in the long run.

Norwich City’s summer business

Norwich have had a quieter summer transfer window than some of their rivals, but have still confirmed three additions to the squad.

This includes the return of Sam Field on a permanent basis after initially joining on loan last season from QPR.

Andre Brooks has also made the switch from a Championship rival to Carrow Road after arriving from Sheffield United.

Meanwhile, Bruno Alves has signed on an initial loan basis from Brazilian side Cruzeiro, while Darlin Yongwa has arrived as a free agent.

Norwich have until 1 September to complete any remaining deals before the market shuts after missing out on the signing of the Ntege twins.
