Bayer Leverkusen lost 2-1 away at Nottingham Forest in a friendly game on Wednesday night. Former Eintracht Frankfurt striker Arnaud Kalimuendo scored the winner for Oliver Glasner’s side in the 90th minute.

The Eagles were keen to turn the Frenchman’s deal permanent, but they were unable to meet Forest’s asking price as he has now scored for the third time in pre-season for the two-time European Cup (Champions League) winners.

Glasner’s men scored inside the first five minutes through Dan Ndoye before Patrik Schick equalized for Leverkusen before the half-time break with a beautiful lob. The Czechia international scored four goals in Leverkusen's last three friendlies.

Leverkusen’s second-choice goalkeeper Janis Blaswich is the only player to feature for 90 minutes from either side. Die Werkself will close their pre-season with another game in England as they face Matthias Jaissle’s Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
