Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Ivory Coast defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting for €40m on Tuesday.
Forest, who finished 16th in the Premier League last season, have made the 22-year-old centre-back their third summer addition after Xaver Schlager and Gustavo Sa. Following Elliot Anderson’s €135m move to Manchester City, the club have funds to deploy in the market.
The 1.90m Ivory Coast international, capped 15 times, has agreed a four-year contract with an option for a further year.
Raised at OS Abobo in Côte d’Ivoire, Diomande moved to Midtjylland before switching to Portugal in 2023.
He featured at the 2026 World Cup with Côte d’Ivoire, and helped Sporting reach the Champions League quarter-finals last season.
