Nottingham Forest target two additions as £40m midfield deal ‘being worked on’ | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest are pushing to add further reinforcements before next week’s deadline, with a right-back prioritised and an extra midfielder under consideration.

According to The Athletic, Forest are working on a deal for Everton’s 19-year-old Harrison Armstrong, with a fee in the region of £40m mooted and a sell-on clause sought by the Toffees.

Liam Delap became the fourth new arrival earlier this week, joining from Chelsea for a club-record £45m, with add-ons that could take the total to £50m. Xaver Schlager, Ousmane Diomande and Steven Benda had already signed.

Head coach Oliver Glasner said on Friday that at least one more signing would be on the cards. At right-back, Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz remains on Forest’s radar.

Forest have been aiming to plug an Elliot Anderson-sized gap in midfield after the England international’s move to Manchester City. Schlager starts at Anfield today for the 12.30pm kick-off against Liverpool, with Ibrahim Sangare absent through a slight injury. James McAtee continues in a deeper role, while Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez are named on the bench.
