Official: Barcelona learn referee appointment for Alavés clash | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona have been made aware of the official set to take charge of their upcoming meeting with Deportivo Alavés.

This comes amid confirmation that Miguel Ángel Ortiz Arias has been assigned to oversee the fixture.

Ángel Ortiz Arias has previously taken his place in the middle for a solitary Barca outing this season, culminating in a 3-1 victory over Real Oviedo.

All told, across his refereeing career, the Spaniard has taken charge of 11 Blaugrana matchups. From these, the Catalans have emerged triumphant eight times, alongside two draws and just a solitary defeat.

Barcelona will of course play host to Alavés on Saturday with sights on a return to winning ways.

After kicking their campaign back into gear following the year’s final international break with a dominant victory over Athletic Club, Hansi Flick’s troops were brought crashing back down to earth in midweek.

This came by way of a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Chelsea in the Champions League.
