After a long wait, FC Barcelona have finally managed to register Dani Olmo in La Liga, in time for tonight’s league game against Rayo Vallecano.

The 26-year-old joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig in a deal worth €55 million plus another €7 million in add-ons.

However, close to three weeks after his arrival, Barça were facing major issues registering him in La Liga due to the lack of salary space.

As such, the Blaugrana parted ways with Ilkay Gundogan, Clement Lenglet, Vitor Roque, and Mika Faye, but were still unable to get Olmo’s registration over the line.

Finally, Barcelona decided to make use of Andreas Christensen’s injury and used the space left by the defender’s long-term absence to register Olmo.

The Catalans followed a similar strategy with Inigo Martinez’s registration, using Ronald Araujo’s injury-enforced absence to get it done.

Now, there are concerns as to how things will go if Christensen were to return earlier than expected from his injury, with his camp reporting that he would be out only for a couple of months.

However, Barcelona have assured the Dane that the Financial Fair Play problem will be resolved soon and that he will be able to play when he returns from his injury without any issues.
