Official: Barcelona starting lineup against Real Madrid | OneFootball

FC Barcelona have announced their starting lineup for the first El Clasico of the 2025/26 season against Real Madrid. 

Due to a number of injuries, manager Hansi Flick has had limited options, but he has put together a squad based on form and fitness to tackle one of the season’s most important fixtures.

With key players like Joan Garcia, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Raphinha, and Lewandowski unavailable, the choices were largely predetermined. 

Flick has opted for a balanced lineup to maximise both defensive stability and attacking threat despite the absences.

In goal, Wojciech Szczesny will start, while the back four will consist of Jules Kounde, Pau Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, and Alejandro Balde. 

The midfield is anchored by Frenkie de Jong and Pedri, with Fermin Lopez, currently in a scintillating form, playing in a more advanced attacking midfield role.

Barcelona’s attacking trio sees Marcus Rashford on the left wing, Ferran Torres leading the line, and Lamine Yamal on the right. 

This setup allows the team to retain width and pace while providing creative support in the centre of the pitch.

Flick’s starting XI reflects the current realities of the squad but also demonstrates trust in his key players to step up in crucial moments. 

Meanwhile, Diego Kochen, Eder Aller, Ronald Araujo, Gerard Martin, Jofre Torrents, Xavi Espart, Marc Casado, Marc Bernal, Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez, Roony Bardghji, and Toni Fernández have been named on the bench.
