Qatari club Al Duhail have officialised the arrival of former Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier. According to Le Parisien, the former Lille OSC and OGC Nice manager has signed a two-year deal with the club.
Galtier’s departure from PSG was officialised in July. It followed an underwhelming season in which Les Parisiens won Ligue 1, albeit only beating RC Lens by one point, but got knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the Round of 16. Whilst Galtier failed to progress this side in European competition, he was also mired in off-the-pitch issues. The French manager remains under investigation for alleged racist remarks, pertaining to his time as Nice manager the previous season. The accusations were revealed in a leaked email from former colleague Julien Fournier, who also left Les Aiglons in the summer of 2022. Galtier has repeatedly denied the accusations.
After links to clubs such as Olympique de Marseille and Napoli, Galtier has now joined Qatari side Al Duhail. Le Parisien report that the deal was agreed last Friday with the signature of a two-year contract taking place on Monday. The news has now been confirmed by the Qatari club.
