Eintracht Frankfurt have announced the signing of Hertha Berlin striker Jessic Ngankam on a five-year deal.
After a long pursuit for the talented marksman, Die Adler have finally landed Ngankam’s signature until the summer of 2028. Die Alte Dame will receive an initial €4m, however, the deal will include further add-ons for the capital club.
“As a young player who is capable of improving and who possesses great potential, Jessic fits our strategy perfectly,” said Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche. “We’re pleased he’s opted for Eintracht Frankfurt despite other interesting offers. Jessic is a player with a great deal of passion and power. We firmly believe he’s the perfect fit for our team and our club.”
“Moving to Eintracht Frankfurt is an important step for me and one which I thought about carefully. After many years in my native Berlin, I’m ready for a new challenge, which I want to face with a very ambitious and exciting Bundesliga club. I’m looking forward to the new challenge and can hardly wait to get started at Eintracht,” commented Ngankam upon his arrival in Frankfurt.
In 43 Bundesliga appearances, Ngankam has managed to register eight goals and collect four assists. A move to Frankfurt will allow the 22-year-old to continue plying his trade in the Bundesliga while playing at a club renowned for developing world-class attacking players.
Ngankam is the ninth summer signing made by Die Adler as they look to build upon their positive last two campaigns. With new head coach Dino Toppmöller, Frankfurt could be the team to watch out for next season.
