Empoli have completed two transfers today, as they signed Lorenzo Colombo on loan with option to buy from Milan and brought back Szymon Zurkowski from Spezia.
The Tuscans secured their Serie A status with a goal in the final minutes of the season and now intend to lock down their position earlier with reinforcements.
Zurkowski is no stranger to the club, as he was already there on loan from Fiorentina from January 2020 to the summer of 2022, then returned on loan from Spezia in January 2024.
Now he is back at the Stadio Castellani again, on loan for one season with an option to buy in June 2025.
The Poland international midfielder turns 27 in September and has seven senior caps.
Meanwhile, Empoli have also officially signed centre-forward Colombo from Milan, on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old is a product of the Rossoneri youth academy who had a series of loan experiences at Cremonese, SPAL, Lecce and Monza.
Last term, he scored four goals and provided one assist in 25 Serie A appearances for Monza.
