Official: Heidenheim loan Hoffenheim’s defender

Hennes Behrens completed a loan move to Heidenheim from fellow Bundesliga side Hoffenheim. The 20-year-old has only featured for Hoffenheim’s second team this term as they’re competing in the 3. Liga.

The Frankfurt-born left-back was on the sidelines for three months due to a muscle injury. Heidenheim will not have an “option to buy” at the end of the season. Frank Schmidt’s team only had Jonas Föhrenbach in that position during Hinrunde as new signing Leart Paçarada suffered an ACL injury.

Behrens’ solitary Bundesliga appearance came in Hoffenheim’s 3-1 defeat in Leverkusen back in February 2025. Heidenheim host Köln when the Bundesliga resumes next weekend.
