Official | Lille sign Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Maurits Kjaergaard

Lille OSC have signed Denmark U23 international midfielder Maurits Kjaergaard (23) from Red Bull Salzburg, both clubs have announced. The 23-year-old has put pen to paper over a five-year deal with Les Dogues. Lille and Red Bull Salzburg have reportedly reached a €5m agreement on Monday. Kjaergaard will wear the No. 14 jersey for Davide Ancelotti’s side.

Lille were in the market for a young and versatile midfielder after parting ways with Ayyoub Bouaddi in a club-record €100m transfer. Kjaergaard already crossed paths with Lille in the UEFA Champions League five years ago, when Les Dogues defeated Red Bull Salzburg. Kjaergaard could make his Lille debut on Thursday against Toulouse.
