Rémi Himbert (18) has been rewarded with his breakthrough at formative club Olympique Lyonnais with his first professional contract.
The forward has benefitted from the lack of depth up-front, even despite Endrick’s arrival on loan from Real Madrid, to cement himself as a viable option under Paulo Fonseca. Himbert came off the bench in the Coupe de France in midweek. At the time, his side were trailing 2-0 to Pierre Sage’s men, but he registered an assist and then a last-gasp goal as Lyon took the game to a penalty shoot-out, which OL would go on to lose.
Himbert has made 10 first-team appearances this season, scoring three goals (one in Ligue 1, one in the UEFA Europa League, and one in the Coupe de France). He recently celebrated his 18th birthday (29th February), and he has now secured his first pro contract. That deal will run until the summer of 2028.
