Official: Mahamadou Doumbia leaves Royal Antwerp and signs with Al-Ittihad
Mahamadou Doumbia has officially left Royal Antwerp this Monday, September 8, to join Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia on a deal running until 2030. The Malian international has signed a five-year contract in a transfer estimated at €16 million.
Royal Antwerp and Al-Ittihad have just publicly confirmed the transfer of Mahamadou Doumbia from Belgium to Saudi Arabia. With the Saudi transfer window open until September 11, the club seized the opportunity to secure the services of the young Malian midfielder. Negotiations accelerated at the start of September when the player left the Mali national team camp to finalize his move. He traveled to Paris for his medical before putting pen to paper on his new deal.
On social media, Al-Ittihad announced Doumbia’s signing for the next five seasons.
During his two seasons at Antwerp, Doumbia played 54 matches across all competitions, netting 8 goals and providing 3 assists. Since the start of the 2025-2026 season, he has already featured in 6 games, scoring 2 goals and registering one assist.
