Official | Monaco’s Thilo Kehrer joins Ajax on loan

Thilo Kehrer, 29, has joined Eredivisie side Ajax on a season-long loan from Monaco. The move was confirmed on Wednesday.

The Germany international has featured for only one minute in all competitions this season, against Le Havre AC on the opening day. Under new manager Filipe Luís, he looks set to be a second-choice option.

Eric Dier and Sadibou Sané appear to be Luís’ preferred centre-back pairing at Monaco, with Christian Mawissa also ahead of Kehrer. He has provided experience and leadership to a young Monaco side.

Ajax have signed him on a straight loan, with no option to buy included in the deal.

He was previously a key player for Monaco.
