OGC Nice have officially announced the signing of Niels Nkounkou (25) from Eintracht Frankfurt. The French full-back joins the Ligue 1 side and returns to France after two-and-a-half seasons in Germany, having arrived at Frankfurt from Everton in January 2024.

The former French youth international made 45 appearances for Frankfurt across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists during his time with the Bundesliga club. The versatile defender, who can operate at left-back and further forward on the left flank, began his professional career with Olympique de Marseille before joining Everton in 2020.

He subsequently enjoyed loan spells with Standard Liège, Cardiff City and Saint-Étienne before making a permanent move to Germany. Nkounkou has also represented France at youth level, featuring for the Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 sides. His arrival provides Nice with additional depth and versatility on the left side of Olivier Pantaloni’s squad.
