According to an official announcement from the club, OGC Nice have announced that Brazilian midfielder Danilo Barbosa (26) has signed for Brazilian top tier side Botafogo. The midfielder, who can also play at centre-back was on loan at Palmeiras last season where he made 30 appearances and scored one goal.
The former Braga, Valencia and Standard Liège man made a total of 50 appearances for OGC Nice since joining from the Liga Portugal in 2018, scoring one goal in red and black during his time on the French Riveria. The club said the following in a statement on the player:
“OGC Nice and Botafogo have agreed on the transfer of Danilo Barbosa (26). After a loan spell at Palmeiras in 2021, Danilo is leaving OGC Nice for good. The versatile midfielder, who is also capable of playing in the centre of defence, has joined Botafogo, a Brazilian first division club.”
