Official: Nkunku leaves and joins RB Leipzig on loan with an option to make the deal permanent | OneFootball

Christopher Nkunku is returning to the club which made him a star.

Nkunku joined Milan last summer from Chelsea for €38m plus €4-5m on a five-year deal but never really made his mark with the Rossoneri, spending most of the last season on the bench and occasionally scoring a penalty.

Ruben Amorim never wanted him in the squad and the Frenchman spent the last few weeks training with a separate group of players that are frozen out.

Today, it was made official that Nkunku is leaving Milan, at least for one season, and he joins his former side in Germany:

“Milan can confirm that Christopher Nkunku has joined RB Leipzig on loan, with an option to make the deal permanent, until 30 June 2027. The Club would like to thank Christopher for the professionalism and dedication that he has shown and wish him all the best for the upcoming season.”

It’s believed Milan will get €4m for the loan option, with the buy out set at €28m. In addition, the Diavolo will cover a portion of the striker’s salary.
