In a shocking piece of development, FC Barcelona and Spain midfielder Pedri has finished 11th in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings.

One of the best midfielders in the game, Pedri enjoyed an exceptional season last time out, playing an integral role in Barcelona’s domestic treble success. He also reached the finals of the UEFA Nations League with Spain.

Considering his impact, influence, and the success he achieved with Barça, Pedri was expected to easily secure a top-ten finish or even a potential podium finish in the Ballon d’Or rankings.

But in a shocking revelation, the 22-year-old midfielder has ended in 11th position in the final voting.

Pedri finishes ahead of Real Madrid duo Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. as well as his Barcelona teammate Robert Lewandowski, who ended in the 17th position. Treble-winners with PSG, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Joao Neves also finished below him.

It, however, means both Lamine Yamal and Raphinha will be in the top ten in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings.

Nevertheless, Pedri, who opted not to travel to Paris for the Ballon d’Or ceremony today, finishing outside the top ten is a big shock and farcical.
