Romain Faivre (27) had been expected to join Le Havre AC on loan, but a late U-turn has instead seen him join AJ Auxerre. No buy option has been included in the deal.

Former Olympique Lyonnais and Stade Brestois playmaker Faivre endured a difficult loan spell at Al-Taawoun during the first part of the season. The Frenchman featured sparingly at the Saudi Pro League side and has therefore seen his loan cut short. However, he did not return to parent club Bournemouth.

Instead, he has returned to France, where he spent last season on loan at Brest. Faivre will wear the No.28 shirt for L’AJA. He joins the Burgundy club who are mired in a relegation battle, with just 12 points from the first 17 league games. His mission is to help steer the club towards safety in Ligue 1. He arrives with a vast experience in France’s top-flight, having made a total of 135 Ligue 1 matches (29 goals, 17 assists).
