FC Bayern has already let several players go this summer, including Alexander Nübel, Noel Aseko, and Daniel Peretz. Now, the record champion’s next transfer has been officially confirmed.
This involves the departure of talented midfielder Felipe Chavez. The record champions have extended their contract with the attacking player through June 30, 2028, but are loaning him to the 2. Bundesliga for the current season. There, he will join 1. FC Magdeburg.
Chavez was already on loan during the second half of last season, but did not get enough playing time at 1. FC Köln. During preseason, he was able to train with the first team and also get a few minutes of playing time in the exhibition matches.
“‘Pippo’ Chávez took the next steps in his development during his appearances for 1. FC Köln in the second half of the season and is now expected to continue playing regularly in Magdeburg. “We extended his contract because we’re convinced of his potential for the future,” said sporting director Christoph Freund regarding the Peruvian’s departure.

In January, Chávez had already played for the first team in the Bundesliga once before moving to Cologne. He is now set to take the next steps in his career in Magdeburg.
On Tuesday, it was reported that FCM had secured a purchase option for the 19-year-old. There is no mention of this in FC Bayern’s press release, at least, but that does not necessarily mean such an option does not exist.
For the player, the move to the 2. Bundesliga is certainly a good opportunity to mature personally and also to get plenty of playing time. That would be unrealistic for him on FC Bayern’s professional team, as the competition is fierce and Chavez still has a lot to learn.
