OL said in a statement it had been made aware of assaults outside Groupama Stadium after Saturday’s match against Le Havre, and strongly condemned the violence.

A councillor from Rillieux-la-Pape later alleged on social media that she and her partner were subjected to a racist attack as they returned to their car. She described insults and blows directed at her partner by a group of supporters, and being struck herself while helping him.

The club expressed support for the victims and stated it would make itself available to the authorities and the judiciary to assist with ongoing investigations.

OL said it would open an internal investigation to establish the full facts and would join the case as a civil party alongside the victims.

The club added it would take all necessary measures to exclude from its stadium, on a long-term basis, any individuals who may be implicated.
