Olivier Giroud will resume individual training on Tuesday after medical checks produced reassuring results, the club said. The LOSC striker remains a doubt for Sunday’s Ligue 1 opener at Angers.

Giroud was withdrawn in the 23rd minute of Saturday’s 1-1 friendly against Everton after a heavy collision with Iliman Ndiaye that caught his left leg.

He underwent additional tests on Monday and the outcome was positive. The effects of the impact are minor and do not point to a lengthy absence.

The LOSC captain will work alone from Tuesday, then rejoin the group gradually.

He is still uncertain for the trip to the Stade Raymond Kopa on Sunday at 15:00, the first round of the Ligue 1 season.
