Osmar Stabile meets Corinthians’ new youth chief: “Experienced”

Last Tuesday (12), President Osmar Stabile met with the new executive of the youth categories, Erasmo Damiani, who signed the contract made between the parties. In the meeting, they aligned the work approach, which will initially aim at competing in the 2026 Copinha.

Damiani was hired to replace Alex Brasil, who was dismissed after the Corinthians Under-17 team was eliminated in the state championship and Raphael Laruccia was dismissed from the category. The team with players aged 17 or under remains without a defined coach for the next season.

Despite the immediate challenges, Damiani spoke positively about the start of the work. “I feel extremely honored and very happy for this new challenge, which is to contribute directly to the development of the players and, consequently, to the growth of the Club, carrying out actions that will give us results in all aspects. The work done in athlete development is built in the medium and long term, going through various areas and processes, in order to deliver an athlete prepared to perform in the professional team”

Osmar Stabile, who participated in hiring the new director, praised Damiani's background and projected a restructuring in the department, which has been happening since Augusto Melo left the presidency.

“The conversation with Damiani was very good. He is an experienced professional and is recognized as capable of leading the restructuring of our athlete development department. Corinthians has always revealed excellent players, and I am fully convinced that the Sons of Terrão are already in great hands”, commented the current president.

As mentioned, Corinthians is undergoing a restructuring in the youth categories, with the release of players who did not have space, as well as renewals with athletes considered promising by the department. Additionally, William Batista remains as the coach of the under-20 team for the next year, while the new coach for the under-17 team is expected to be chosen next week.
