Martín Demichelis on...

...the performance:

  1. "I think it was a solid performance from us overall. Even after going 3-0 up, we didn't take our foot off the gas. We continued to put in a professional performance in the second half and made barely any mistakes. Overall, it was a very dominant performance."

...the quality of RBL's attack:

  1. "We have a lot of quality in attack. We want to play creative, attacking football and have the right players to do just that. However, we can still stand to improve in the final third and do more to finish our chances."

...the substitutions and minutes played:

  1. "The important thing was that every player was able to get the minutes they need. Several only returned late on in pre-season and were therefore able to earn additional match practice today. The substitutes all did well today – overall, we did a very good job as a team."

...the next step:

  1. "It was important for us to play a competitive game following the end of pre-season in order to get back into the rhythm of things. We now have a week in Leipzig to continue working on internalising our principles. We did a lot of things right today, but we also know what we still have to work on."

David Raum on...

...the game:

  1. "From the start, we put in a very mature and dominant performance. It's not easy to play away on a pitch like this. Kudos to our opponents for the way they got stuck in, and to the fans for creating such a great atmosphere. Overall, I'm proud of the lads. It was a solid away win and a successful start to the season."

...the start to the new season:

  1. "We're a team with a lot of energy and we learned a lot from last season. Under a new had coach, things are running more and more smoothly, as we saw at times today."

...the first Bundesliga game against Gladbach:

  1. "I'm now looking forward to our first league game at home in front of our fans. After starting last season with a difficult trip to Munich, we now want to get the Bundesliga season off to a positive start."

Brajan Gruda on...

...the performance and fitness levels:

  1. "We played well and can be very happy with the win. The best thing is that many of us are in peak physical condition and can play 90 minutes with no problems, and that we bring a high level of intensity to the pitch. We were able to create many chances and were very active on the pitch."

...what the head coach wanted to see:

  1. "The head coach told us before the game that we should have a lot of respect heading into the game. Especially when you go in as the favourites, it's easy to believe that it will be easy. He wanted to see discipline, intensity and an aggressive pressing game from us, which we managed to do."

...his position:

  1. "It doesn't really matter much to me, whether I play on the right or in a more central role. I just want to play. If I'm healthy and the manager puts their trust in me, then I'm able to deliver strong performances."

...looking forward to the return of the Bundesliga:

  1. "After seven weeks of pre-season, we're really looking forward to the Bundesliga. Today's win will give us positive energy heading into a new week and we just want to continue on like this."
