Dani Raba is not in Carlos Corberán’s plans at Valencia despite bright pre-season minutes, and with about a week left in the window the club and his representatives are working on an exit. Cazurreando reports that Oviedo are close to an agreement with the player, which is dependent on terminating the final year of his Valencia deal.
Raba’s early pre-season high came against Eldense, when he played 45 minutes, set up Sato and scored the third. The attacking midfielder linked well with team-mates and carried a threat between the lines.
His influence waned afterwards, though he continued to show touches of quality when involved. All three parties are hopeful the situation can be wrapped up next week, giving Raba the minutes he is unlikely to receive in Valencia.
Meanwhile, Andrés Almeida is also close to leaving Mestalla, with a deal to join Celta said to be well advanced. He halted a move to Swansea as he prefers to remain in LaLiga, ideally at a club in European competition and about 125 kilometres from his home city, Guimaraes.
Celta head coach Claudio Giráldez declined to dwell on signings in his pre-match press conference, though he described Andrés as a great player.
Talks between Valencia and Celta will intensify in the coming days once their LaLiga meeting has passed. Valencia want at least the 3.5 million previously agreed with Swansea, while Celta will seek a reduction and must first finalise the departure of Matías Vecino.
