Pablo Garcia leaves Real Betis in tears to join Racing Santander

Pablo Garcia has left Real Betis for Racing Santander in the final hours of the transfer window after being pushed out.

According to L'Équipe, the 20-year-old academy product, who had known only Betis, was seen in tears in his car as he left the Verdiblancos' training centre on Tuesday.

He featured sparingly in La Liga last season, making 15 appearances and playing 378 minutes. Even so, Santander have paid about €5 million to sign him.

Betis needed the sale to finalise the signing of Dani Ceballos, who returns to his boyhood club 11 years after leaving.

The deal raises questions over Betis' economic health, despite their qualification for the Champions League.
