Pablo Hernández turns to CD Castellón reserves as seven absences bite | OneFootball

CD Castellón face a stern examination at Castalia with seven absences through international duty, injuries and suspensions, so coach Pablo Hernández has turned to the reserves for the visit of AD Ceuta.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the main change is the enforced absence of striker Miguelón Ferrer, sent off for a second booking in the 95th minute for the reserves against Lorca Deportiva, which cuts the first-team call-ups from three to two.

Midfielder Álex Pérez, Miami-born and in his second season with the club’s academy, steps up buoyed by a goal in the B team’s recent win in Orihuela.

He is joined by 17-year-old playmaker Óscar Albiol of Benicarló, a second-year youth player who last term became a regular in Segunda Federación at just 16.

The pair will look for their first minutes in the Segunda, with Castellón’s needs fast-tracking their chance with the seniors. A demanding afternoon awaits, with the academy being asked to help the first team through a critical round.
